Offering authentic, natural, and holistic health solutions, Kerala Ayurveda has built trust and faith across generations both in India and in the United States. As more and more people in the world are exploring and moving towards herbal alternatives and relying deeply on Ayurvedic practices, Kerala Ayurveda continues to carve out a niche for itself in the e-commerce landscape in 2025.
While a strong heritage and even deeper roots were enough to build a name for themselves, Kerala Ayurveda needed a stronger push to firmly establish their e-commerce foothold. The biggest challenge to phase out first was the lack of a platform that could match the brand’s vision to the expectations of their customers.
Previously on BigCommerce, Kerala Ayurveda faced challenges managing day-to-day e-commerce operations, exploring the flexibility to reach both B2C and B2B customers efficiently, and supporting the dynamic demands of a growing multi-market, multi-user Ayurvedic ecosystem. Additionally, their team was facing operational delays in managing distributors, assigning pricing, and maintaining catalog consistency.

Introducing the Kerala Ayurveda USA Store
Following the successful launch of the India store, the Kerala Ayurveda USA storefront marked Stage 2 of the brand’s e-commerce journey with Marmeto. Rather than build from scratch, Marmeto executed a full clone of the India site, adapting it for the US market's operational, compliance, and audience needs.
The cloning process, however, wasn’t without challenges. Partway through development, Shopify deprecated its native cloning tool, which had been used to duplicate the Indian site structure. Marmeto's team quickly coordinated with Shopify’s support to devise a workaround, ensuring successful environment replication without interrupting timelines.
Once cloned, the US site was customized to support:

Affiliate Marketing Integration using Shopify’s B2B features, repurposed for partner logins
The affiliate marketing integration was a key feature Marmeto worked on for the USA store. Each affiliate was treated as a company under Shopify’s B2B model, with exclusive access to selected collections and pricing. This gave the USA store a unique dual-layer capability: one for direct consumers and another for logged-in affiliates managing their purchase flow.
The success of the USA store proved the power of Shopify’s global framework when paired with the right technical partner.
Marmeto & Kerala Ayurveda Future
With two storefronts, in two different geographies, up and running, the third phase of our project is about to commence. Under this phase, Marmeto and Kerala Ayurveda, together, are looking to integrate:

Kerala Ayurveda Academy: A new LMS-integrated store for the brand’s educational division. This division will be responsible for imparting knowledge on the centuries-old traditions, practices, and applications of Ayurveda.

Prescription-Based Commerce: Custom product validation flows for prescription-only products, currently in development. As Kerala Ayurveda also boasts of medicinal products, every customer who purchases these will be prompted to upload a prescription, which the Kerala Ayurveda team will manually check for authenticity before processing these orders.

Cart-Level Upsell Intelligence: Algorithm-powered cart upsell recommendations based on user behavior and collection logic. Under these, cart upsells will play a role in increasing AOV and providing additional value to the customers.
The journey ahead is long and winding; however, the partnership we have built with Kerala Ayurveda is a strong example of powerful tech meeting a brand moving forward with a purpose.
